Beyond Fluorescence Imaging

Research

We develop novel optical imaging tools and use them to unveil molecular secrets of cells.

Research Interest

In order for a cell to function, biomolecules must work toghether in precise choreography. Understanding their individual and collective roles is a difficult problem because these nanometer-sized machines operate in complex, densely populated environment of the cell. We face the challenge by develping optical visualization tools and applying them for observing biomolecules in action in their natural habitat of the cell.

Technique

Our tools of choice include super-resolution optical microscopy, probe engineering and single-molecule spectroscopy.
